The 3rd Annual California International Arbitration Week is taking place on March 11th-14th. CPR Dispute Resolution will be presenting "The Swords and Shields of Arbitrating IP Disputes in California and Beyond " on Thursday, March 14th, 9:15 AM – 10:45 AM Pacific. 

Join CPR Dispute Resolution Vice President, Mia Levi, for an informative program, which will explore how to leverage arbitration-related tools in IP disputes, with a specific focus on areas in which those tools can be used as a sword or as a shield. Topics discussed will include confidentiality, protective orders, interim measures, and technical experts, among others. The panelists will look into both aspects of the available ADR tools; for example: confidentiality might be the preferred option to preserve trade secrets and proprietary information, on the other hand, it may create challenges where the party seeking to enforce its IP rights may want publicity vis-à-vis third parties. The panelists will explore what specific (and creative) interim measures tribunals can fashion to protect contested rights and examples of such remedies in the context of IP disputes; how protective orders can assist parties in maintaining confidentiality; and how the inclusion of super partes experts has become more widespread both at drafting stages (through inclusion in the arbitration clause) as well as by appointment by tribunals.
