CPR Welcomes Richard W. Naimark and Jeffrey Kaplan to Boards of Directors

Naimark has joined the Board of Directors for subsidiary CPR Dispute Resolution Services.

The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that helps others manage conflict so that they might better pursue their purpose, is pleased to announce that Richard W. Naimark, retired Senior Vice President of American Arbitration Association (AAA), has joined the CPR Dispute Resolution Services Board of Directors and Jeffrey Kaplan, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of LyondellBasell, has joined the CPR Board of Directors.

CPR Dispute Resolution is a subsidiary of CPR and a leading alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider for business-to-business disputes, as well as employment disputes.

CPR’s Board of Directors is comprised of thought leaders from a variety of backgrounds with a shared goal of preventing disputes and finding ways to resolve them more effectively and efficiently when they do arise.

Richard W. Naimark is an experienced neutral with a distinguished history of service in ADR. In addition to his leadership at AAA, he was the founder of the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and the Global Center for Dispute Resolution Research. He also served as Permanent Secretary – North America, Court of Arbitration for Sport. His experience includes consulting in the establishment of international ADR centers and trainer and leader of seminars on mediation and arbitration in the U.S. and globally. He received a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Science – Business Policy from Columbia University Business School.

Jeffrey Kaplan serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of LyondellBasell, one of the world's largest global chemical companies. His areas of responsibility include Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, and Real Estate & Facilities. Prior to joining LyondellBasell, Kaplan was Deputy General Counsel at Chevron Phillips Chemical and partner at Glidden Partners LLP. He received his B.A. from Amherst College and his J.D. from University of Texas School of Law in Austin.
