New group to focus on the impact of digital developments such as smart contracts, open innovations, contract management and artificial intelligence on dispute prevention and resolution.
New York – The International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), a global non-profit organization that advances dispute prevention and resolution practices and solutions, announced the formation of a new committee, the Digital Transformation Committee.
The committee will meet periodically to analyze and discuss the impact of new technologies—such as smart contracts, open innovations, contract management and artificial intelligence—on the dispute prevention and resolution landscape. The group will also focus on matters related to cybersecurity and data protection.
“Digital technologies and techniques in the ADR space are changing so quickly and continuously that busy practitioners may find it challenging to keep up—and yet, keep up they must,” said CPR President & CEO, Allen Waxman. “Under the leadership of its chairs, the Digital Transformation Committee will focus on the use of the latest technology and its application to dispute resolution techniques.”
The Co-Chairs of this committee are John Buyers of Osborne Clark, Christine Ing of McCarthy Tétrault and Ralf Lindbäck of Wärtsilä Corporation. The Secretaries to the Committee are David Earnest of Shearman & Sterling LLP and Lee Rovinescu of Freshfields LLP.
Olivier P. André, CPR, Senior Vice President, International is the Staff Liaison to the Committee.
Committee participation is open to CPR Members only. To learn more, visit our website here. You can join by logging into our website or contacting rmurphy@cpradr.org.
