Effie D. Silva is a seasoned executive and trusted advisor to boards and senior leadership, with deep expertise in transactional law, litigation, corporate governance, and compliance. She serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (NYSE: FDP), a $4.5B global food company, where she leads legal, risk management, governance, trade compliance, food safety, government affairs, and corporate reporting.

Prior to Fresh Del Monte, Effie was the Ethics and Compliance Leader for Cargill Inc., a $165B private food and agriculture company, where she oversaw compliance for its $50B Protein and Salt division and advised the Board on critical risk matters. She previously served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Tyson Foods Inc. (NYSE: TSN), managing legal affairs for its $10B Prepared Foods business and enterprise-wide sustainability initiatives.

Effie brings more than two decades of experience from top global law firms, including as Partner at McDermott Will & Emery and Duane Morris, and as a Senior Attorney at Baker & McKenzie. She has advised multinational corporations on governance, regulatory compliance, investigations, M&A, and cross-border disputes.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Effie has broad international experience across LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), a Qualified Arbitrator with AAA, CPR, FINRA, and SIAC, and is Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration by the Florida Bar.

Effie is a Certified Director (NACD) and a member of the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA). She is a 50/50 Women on Boards Women to Watch Honoree for 2025. She holds a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she serves on the Board of Directors, and a B.A. in International Relations from Wellesley College.
